DIG HS Bhullar Reviews Law and Order, Drug Crackdown Efforts in Ropar Range
Ropar Range DIG HS Bhullar chaired a high-level meeting with district police officials today to review law and order, assess the progress of the ongoing war against drugs, and evaluate the status of pending criminal cases. The meeting also focused on the operational challenges faced by the police and outlined strategic plans to combat crime and drug abuse effectively.
Present at the meeting were SSP Shubham Aggarwal, SP (D) Rakesh Yadav, and area DSPs. The DIG conducted a detailed review of pending cases across police stations, particularly those related to the NDPS Act, excise violations, and crimes against women and children.
DIG Bhullar emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order, preventing crime, ensuring speedy and high-quality investigations, and resolving public grievances promptly. He also highlighted the need to strengthen police-public relations, calling it a cornerstone of effective policing.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, DIG Bhullar reaffirmed the Punjab Police’s unwavering commitment to eradicating the drug menace from the state. He stated that police officials had been instructed to intensify round-the-clock patrolling, install checkpoints (nakas), and conduct more cordon and search operations (CASO), especially in sensitive areas.
SSP Shubham Aggarwal added that a comprehensive campaign against drugs had been launched in the district, with the aim of making Fatehgarh Sahib a drug-free zone. He urged local residents, NGOs, social organizations, and youth clubs to join the fight, stressing the importance of collective efforts to safeguard the future of the younger generation.
