BSF Neutralizes Pakistani Intruder in Punjab’s Ferozepur Sector; Security Tightened Along Western Front

In the early hours of May 8, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel neutralized a Pakistani intruder in the Ferozepur sector of Punjab, official sources confirmed on Thursday.

The intruder was spotted crossing the International Border under the cover of darkness and moving toward the border security fence. After being challenged by alert BSF troops, the individual was fired upon and killed.

Following the incident, the body was handed over to the local police once daylight broke, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The infiltration attempt came within 24 hours of Operation Sindoor, a major cross-border operation in which Indian forces reportedly destroyed nine terrorist launch pads located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in a series of punitive strikes.

In response to the heightened tensions and potential retaliatory actions, the BSF has increased security across the Western Front. All leaves for personnel have been canceled, and surveillance has been intensified along the Pakistan border.
