Army Jawan Arrested in Jalandhar YouTuber Grenade Attack Case

Punjab Police on Thursday announced the arrest of an Army jawan in connection with last month’s grenade attack at the residence of Jalandhar-based YouTuber Rozer Sandhu.

The jawan, identified as Sukhcharan Singh, was posted in Jammu and Kashmir. According to police, he allegedly provided online training to one of the accused on how to use a hand grenade.

The incident took place on the night of March 15-16, when a grenade was hurled at Sandhu’s house. Fortunately, it did not explode.

Police said the Army was informed about Singh’s suspected involvement. He was subsequently taken into custody and presented in a Jalandhar court, which remanded him to five days of police custody.

Pakistani national Shahzad Bhatti later claimed responsibility for orchestrating the attack, accusing the YouTuber of using derogatory language against Muslims.

So far, a total of seven individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.
